Overview

Boitshoko Consulting ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who visits this website or gets in touch with us. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information we collect

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message you provide.

When you book a session through this site, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the session details you choose (online or in-person, date, time, and number of sessions). Card details are entered directly on our payment processor Yoco's own secure checkout page — they pass to Yoco, not to us, and we never see or store your full card number.

Like most websites, we also collect limited technical information automatically — such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site — through analytics tools described below.

How we use your information

Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your enquiry, for example to answer a question about our services. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Booking details are used to confirm and manage your appointment: generating your invoice, emailing you a calendar invite, and coordinating the session itself (for example sending you a video call link for an online session, or confirming the location for an in-person one).

Aggregated, anonymised analytics data helps us understand which pages are useful and improve the site over time.

Third-party services we use

Contact form and booking-related messages are delivered via Resend, an email delivery provider, and protected against automated abuse using Vercel BotID before being sent to our inbox.

Online payments are processed by Yoco, a PCI-compliant South African payment provider, via their hosted checkout page. Yoco's own privacy and security practices apply to the payment details you enter there.

Booking records and the invoices we generate are stored securely using Supabase, our database and file storage provider, and are only accessible to authorised staff of this practice.

We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand site traffic in aggregate. These services may use cookies or similar technologies; no personally identifying contact details are shared with them.

Data retention

We keep contact form enquiries only for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and maintain a record of client communication, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

Booking, invoice, and payment records are kept for as long as required for accounting, tax, and other legal record-keeping obligations.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or ask us to delete it, subject to any legal or record-keeping requirements. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@boitshoko-consulting.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
